Pogerola
Perched on the hill called Mount Falconcello, stands behind Amalfi, once dominated by the castle to guard the city and the surrounding coastline, of which there are clear traces of the ancient walls and towers. In one of these, built in the fifteenth century, was recently identified the monastic church of San Sebastiano, dating from the late tenth century. Pogerola is the largest of the five hamlets of Amalfi and its name probably derives from Pigellula, perhaps because here were produced special earthenware dishes. There are many medieval churches in the area, which preserve the details of the local architecture: the parish church of Santa Marina of the twelfth century; one Byzantine dedicated to St. Michael the Archangel, built in 1181; that of Our Lady of Grace, founded by some noble families in 1539.
Amalfi
Keeps intact the charm of the Amalfi Republic in its alleys, streets, in its churches and traditions. Every four years, alternately in each of the Ancient Maritime Republics, there is the Historical Regatta. The Byzantine New Year is an event that traces the glories of Ancient Duchy with the parade with ancient costumes; the festivities in honor of the patron saint, St. Andrew, are celebrated twice in the year: in summer and in fall. There are numerous museums: the Museum of the Duchy of Amalfi in the ancient medieval arsenals, where is preserved the precious navigation code, The Tabula Amalfitana, a collection of coins, compasses and ancient clothes. On the left of the Cathedral there are the Diocesan Museum and the Cloister of Paradise. Along the climb of Via dei Mulini you meet the Museum of Amalfi paper, in a restored paper mill. The Marina Beach and numerous large private beaches will complete your visit to Amalfi.
Positano
The favorite town of the international jet set, the VIP Watching, Fashion Positano, is one of the pearls of the Amalfi Coast. It offers to the visitor the magic of its lively streets, alleys, bleachers. Enchanting are its beaches: Marina Grande and Fornillo, within walking distance from a romantic and characteristic street that runs along a stretch of coast near the sea.
Ravello
The town was founded in the middle Ages to rival against the rich nobility of the Amalfi Republic. Ravello is an oasis of peace and preserves its medieval treasures, art and culture in its beautiful villas overlooking the coast, the charming gardens that have fascinated Wagner, much to him inspired the composition of "Parsifal". The Cathedral, the Museum and the ancient monasteries are the custodians of its historical, artistic, architectural and religious wealth. In the gardens of the Villa Rufolo and in the "Auditorium Oscar Niemeyer", is repeated every year, the festival of Classical Music. When it finished, begins the Film season.
